Samsung Galaxy S8 Features Leaked! | Samsung Galaxy S8 Rumours And Specifications

Samsung is in a tight position right now as the company hopes to rise again after the devastation that was the Galaxy Note 7. The device came out swinging,  and then it began to trip and explode multiple times to the point where Samsung had to abandon it completely.

Now its time for the "Next Big Thing", obviously the Galaxy S8. There are many expectations from this device, especially after the note 7 fiasco. This device has to redefine Samsung's capabilities, so as to gain their lost reputation.

So far, several rumors of the Galaxy S8 have surfaced on the web. They all sound interesting, although it can be difficult to tell what is real from what is not.
Have a look at it altogether.

Display :

Just like the S7, even the Galaxy S8 will come In 2 variants.
This time, both the variants might sport a curved edge panel, one with 5.7” display and the other with 6.2”(it is less likely).
Rumors say that, the display panel will be a 2k OLED panel, with improved AMOLED technology.
The resolution would be 1440 x 2560 at 576ppi.
There is another rumor that boasts about a 4k panel with a resolution of 4096 x 2160, at 891ppi.

Assistant :

As google  decided to keep their  “Google Assistant” limited to their Pixel devices, Samsung has planned to add their own assistant  to the Galaxy S8.
It is named as “VIV”
It might be a replacement for “S-Voice”, but this time it might be more reliable.
“VIV” is a product of VIV Labs, which was started by a co-creator of “SIRI”.
Samsung got its hands on “VIV” after it acquired “VIV labs “.
Leaks say that , the new assistant , will be able to learn and enhance itself as per the user. Users might observe the assistant getting familiar with them day-by-day. This is another attempt of Samsung to level up artificial intelligence in smartphones.
It can be a worthy competitor to Google, Hound and SIRI.

Specifications:

Samsung always offers the best in class hardware. As always Samsung launches two variants of their smartphone, one with an EXYNOS chip and the other with a SNAPDRAGON chip .

In S7 we saw the powerful EXYNOS 8890 and SNADRAGON 820 .
Same will be the story with the Galaxy S8, one with EXYNOS 8895 series and the other with a SANPDRAGON 830 series.

Both of these variants will have different approaches, EXYNOS is for multi-tasking and performance and SNAPDRAGON is for gaming. If you are interested in flashing custom ROM's, then you might have to consider the SNAPDRAGON variant, obviously because of its open source nature. However, if your only concern is performance, then EXYNOS should be your ideal choice.

Both the variants will have 6GB of RAM.
The internal storage options will be : 64GB & 128GB.
External storage will also be present, which can hold up to 256GB.

Samsung won't be increasing their battery capacity from last year’s 4.200mAh , but some software tweaks will surely help the battery to last longer.
A slightly upgraded version of Retina Scanner might also be there.
USB type 'C' will be used.

The camera will sport a new (1/2.3”) sensor with f/1.4 aperture , with dual LENS technology , it is obvious to think that Samsung will sport a dual camera , but most likely it wont .
The Galaxy S8 is called "Dream1" and "Dream 2".

Software:

The Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with Android Nougat out of the box, not confirmed whether it would be 7.0 or 7.1 . One thing is for sure, that is touchwiz, since Android Lollipop, Samsung is constantly trying to give as much stock android look as possible, but still keeps the dominant signs of touch wiz.
We might see an upgraded version of Grace UX , that was previously seen in Note 7.

The firmware will be similar to s7 nougat beta software . S7 users can experience the nougat build,  this build brings improvements to the notification shade. You can now choose the grid layout for the toggles and also choose to have the brightness slider at the top of the toggles. The update also gets rid of the Edge feeds feature. Other than that, there are a bunch of minor improvements and bug fixes but the update also has some issues of its own, such as the slow lighting of the screen when you wake up the phone and intermittent Wi-Fi disconnections. However the final nougat update for s7 will definitely be stable and also bring new features. The S8 and S7 UI would be much similar.
The Dream UX will be a nice refinement of Grace UX , and might make it more organized.

Conclusion :

What will appear on the Samsung Galaxy S8 ?
- Who knows at the moment. We have months of waiting ahead of us but it would be interesting to see a change in design, more improvements in camera capabilities and software refinements.
